Anna-Liisa Bezrodny was born into a distinguished family of musicians in Moscow, growing up in Finland. She is currently in great demand as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician all over the world, receiving brilliant and praising critiques of her performances. Moving to London via previous studies in Finland, in 2006 Anna-Liisa was awarded the most prestigious award of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Gold Medal, previously won by masters such as Bryn Terfel and Jacqueline du Pré. She has appeared with many of the great European orchestras in recent years and, in recognition of her teaching and championing of Estonian music, was given an honorary Musician of the Year Award from the Estonian Cultural Foundation.
Anna-Liisa is the new Artistic Director of both the Tallinn Chamber Music Festival, as well as the Tallinn Sinfonietta, Estonia. She currently plays on a Hieronymus II Amati violin from 1678, kindly on loan from the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
Anna-Liisa’s future projects include playing the Bach Double Concerto with Nicola Benedetti, and a chamber music recording project with Maxim Vengerov for DECCA.
