Jessica Duchen's novel Ghost Variations (Unbound 2016) is based on extraordinary real events, unfolding against a background of the Depression and the rise of fascism.  This exceptional programme combines author and musicians in a dazzling mix of narration and music.  Each piece has been chosen for its associations with d'Aranyi, including music by Mendelssohn, Bartok, Ravel, FS Kelly and, of course, Schumann.
