Born in Bombay, Patricia Rozario OBE has developed a career in opera, concert work, recording and broadcasting. Her unique voice and artistry have inspired several of the world’s leading composers to write for her, most notably Sir John Tavener, who has now written over thirty works for her. Her CD of Joachín Rodrigo’s songs for soprano and guitar with Craig Ogden was released in May this year on Somm Records.
Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation. He has performed throughout the world as a soloist with the world’s greatest orchestras, as a chamber musician, in recital, and on radio and television. His debut solo CD for Nimbus Records was nominated for a Grammy Award. Craig Ogden made his Royal Albert Hall debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra performing Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez.

Sophie Cashell won the BBC Classical Star Television programme in 2007 with her climactic performance of Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2. Sophie’s acclaimed debut disc features works by Chopin, Liszt, Ravel and Debussy. She has performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra on tour in Scotland and Ireland, and the Orchestra of Saint Cecilia at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.

Appointed principal of the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2002, Lucy Wakeford is one of the most outstanding harpists of her generation. She is also principal harp of the Britten Sinfonia and harpist of the Nash Ensemble. Much in demand as a soloist, recitalist and ensemble player she has performed at major venues and festivals throughout Europe including the 2008 Leicester International Music Festival. She has recorded the Mozart Concerto for Flute & Harp with the Britten Sinfonia and Dohnanyi’s Concertino with the English Sinfonia on the BMG and ASV labels respectively.

Linde Brunmayr-Tutz is a frequent soloist with leading baroque ensembles. She is professor of traverso flute at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen, Germany where she also played an important part in building up the Early Music Institute. She was artistic director of the International Summer Academy for Early Music in Innsbruck from 1996 to 2004 and received the Tyrolean Jakob Stainer prize for particular service to early music. Together with Lars Ulrik Mortensen she recorded the flute sonatas by J.S.Bach and received the prestigious Diapason d’Or award.
Barbara Adamczyk, the Polish harpsichordist, studied at the College of Music in Katowice (Poland) with Marek Toporowski and at the College of Music in Trossingen (Germany) with Marieke Spaans. Since 2007 she has been working as an harpsichord accompanist at the College of Music in Trossingen and in Stuttgart.

Guy Johnston won BBC’s Young Musician of the Year in 2000 and since then has enjoyed successes with many leading orchestras and in recital. Recent and forthcoming highlights include performances of the Elgar Cello Concerto, Walton’s Cello Concerto, Britten’s Symphony for Cello and Orchestra, Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, Brahms’ Double Concerto and Haydn’s Cello Concerto. He is regularly heard on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
Tom Poster appears as concerto soloist and chamber musician across an extensive repertoire in a range of major international venues and has given solo recitals at concert halls and festivals across the UK and Europe. Tom has collaborated with the Brodsky, Endellion and Skampa Quartets and is the pianist of the Aronowitz Ensemble. He broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio 3 and has recorded works by Thomas Adès for EMI. He is also a successful composer.

Jan Stigmer has for many years received high acclaim by audiences and critics alike for his lyrical and colourful playing. He has toured extensively and he has performed with some of the world’s top orchestras. He is very popular in China and in 2005 he became the first western musician ever to perform in Tibet. In 2007, he premièred Rolf Martinsson’s violin concerto with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Jan Stigmer plays on a violin by Antonio Stradivarius dated 1724.
Rob van Heck is considered one of the best chamber music pianists of the Netherlands. With his technically brilliant and flowing style, he is an absolute favourite with singers and instrumentalists. Rob van Heck has performed with most Dutch orchestras in works by Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin and Mendelssohn. In recent years he has dedicated most of his time to chamber music.

The Sitkovetsky Trio is a collaboration between three young musicians who share a passion for Chamber Music. Having met and worked together at the Yehudi Menuhin School, they founded the trio in 2007 and have already received numerous awards and critical acclaim. The trio made a highly successful Southbank debut, playing a recital in the Purcell Room, and was invited to play in front of Her Majesty the Queen. They made their debut appearance at the Wigmore Hall in November 2008. Last season, their Lunchtime Concert had to be cancelled because of snow! All three musicians enjoy varied careers as soloists and chamber musicians in their own right.

Recognised as one of the world’s best and most charismatic viola players, Maxim Rysanov is the current Classic FM Gramophone Young Artist of the Year. Maxim has performed with the world’s finest orchestras and makes regular appearances as a chamber artist at major festivals. His new CD of Brahms viola works (Onyx) also features Katya Apekisheva. Maxim is currently a member of the BBC New Generation artist scheme.
Katya Apekisheva is one of Europe's foremost pianists, in demand internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, and has been described by Gramophone magazine as 'a profoundly gifted artist'. Her solo CD release of Grieg solo piano works in 2008 has received over-whelming critical acclaim. She is a regular guest at major chamber music festivals around the world including the Leicester International Music Festival.

The Carducci Quartet has won no fewer than 7 International Chamber Music Competitions in the space of 5 years, and has quickly become recognised as one of Europe's top young string quartets. They recently established their own record label 'Carducci Classics', launched with a CD of Haydn String Quartets. They have toured Europe and in Italy, where, after performing numerous concerts at the Castagnetto-Carducci Festival, the quartet adopted the name “Carducci” with the blessing of the Mayor.

Nicholas Daniel is the Artistic Director of the Leicester International Music Festival and the Lunchtime Concert Series. Nicholas won the BBC Young Musician of the Year when he was 18. At his debut at the BBC Proms in 1992, the Sunday Times described him as one of the greatest exponents of the oboe in the world. In the 2008 BBC Proms, he played the Mozart Oboe Concerto on the First Night and the Elliott Carter Oboe concerto. He is Professor at the Trossingen Musikhochschule in Germany. He is Associate Artistic Director of the Britten Sinfonia.
Maggie Cole enjoys an international musical life playing and recording on harpsichord, fortepiano and modern piano. She is best known through numerous recitals on BBC Radio 3 and appearances at leading British festivals and abroad. In addition to a busy solo career, she enjoys duo partnerships with, for example, Mark Padmore (tenor) and Steven Isserlis (cello). She also performs frequently with The Nash Ensemble and Britten Sinfonia. Maggie will be recording a double CD of Haydn trios to be released in 2009 with Trio Goya.
